Terms of Service

These terms apply to tree work carried out by Tree and Stump Removal in Austin, Texas and the surrounding area, and to the use of this website. Last updated {{POLICY_DATE}}.

Quotes

Estimates are free and are given in writing. A quote is based on what we could see, whether from your photographs or from a site visit, and it holds for 30 days unless we say otherwise.

A price can change only where the job turns out to be materially different from what was described, for example a tree noticeably larger than the photographs suggested, hidden decay that changes the method, or access that cannot be used. If that happens we stop and agree a revised price with you before continuing. We do not add charges after the fact.

Prices on this website

The ranges published across this site are guidance drawn from work we do in the Austin metro. They are there so you know roughly what to expect. They are not offers and your written quote is the only binding number.

Permits and permissions

You confirm that you own the tree, or are authorised by the owner to have it worked on. We check municipal tree ordinance requirements for the address and will tell you what we find, and where a permit is needed we will not begin until it is in place.

Approvals from a homeowners association, an architectural control committee or a landlord remain your responsibility. If work is stopped or penalised because a permission you told us was in place was not, the cost of that sits with you.

Access and the site

Please make sure we can reach the tree on the agreed day, that gates are unlocked, and that vehicles are moved off driveways. Tell us before the day about anything buried that we would not know about, particularly irrigation lines, private electrical runs, septic systems and pet fencing. We call 811 for public utility locates; private lines are not on those maps and we cannot be responsible for damage to services we were not told about.

Heavy equipment leaves marks. We use mats and plywood to protect ground where we reasonably can, and some impression on lawns and soft ground is normal on this kind of work.

Scheduling and weather

Tree work is weather-dependent and climbing in high wind or lightning is unsafe, so dates can move. We will tell you as early as we can. After a storm crosses the metro we prioritise by severity, which means jobs touching structures come before everything else, including work already booked.

Payment

Standard residential jobs are payable on completion, once the work and the cleanup are done. No deposit is required to book one. Large multi-day jobs, land clearing and commercial contracts may be staged, and any such arrangement is set out in the proposal before you agree to it.

Cancellation

Cancel or reschedule at no cost with reasonable notice, ideally 24 hours or more. Where a crane, specialist equipment or a road closure has already been booked on your behalf, those costs may be passed on if they cannot be cancelled.

Insurance and liability

We carry general liability and workers’ compensation insurance at {{INSURANCE_AMOUNT}} and will provide a certificate on request. We are responsible for damage caused by our negligence.

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, for failure of structures or surfaces already in poor condition, for damage to unmarked private underground services, or for what a tree does before we arrive.

What we cannot promise

Trees are living things and no one can guarantee how one will respond. We cannot promise that a trimmed tree will survive, that a treated tree will recover, or that a tree left standing will not fail in a future storm. Our assessments are professional opinion based on what can be seen and are not a warranty of future condition.

Website content

The guides on this site, including anything about permits, ordinances, insurance and tax, are general information for Austin-area homeowners and not legal, insurance or tax advice. Ordinances change. Check current requirements with your city and your own advisers before making a decision that depends on them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any dispute belongs in the courts of Travis County, Texas.
