Why homeowners call us

A small crew, not a call centre

You speak to the person who prices the job, and that person is on site when it happens. Nobody sells your details to three subcontractors.

We answer at night

Storm work does not wait for business hours. A tree on your roof is the call we drop everything for.

Flat prices in writing

A number you can hold us to, itemised so you can see what the stump and the haul-off cost separately.

We follow the oak wilt rules

No oaks opened February to June, and every cut painted the same day. Plenty of Austin crews still skip that.

Cleanup is not an extra

Wood on the truck, drive and yard raked and blown. You should not be able to tell we were here.

Feb 1 – Jun 30 Do not prune oaks

Central Texas has the worst oak wilt in the country

It moves between live oaks through grafted roots, so it takes out whole streets rather than single trees. The beetles that carry it are active from February through June, and a fresh cut in that window is an open door. We do not open oaks then, and we paint every oak wound the same day it is made, in every month of the year.

How it works

Three steps, and the first takes a minute

  1. Send a photo

Stand back far enough to get the whole tree in frame and tell us roughly how tall it is against the house. That is usually enough to price it.

  2. Get a written price

A flat number in writing, not a range that moves on the day. Most quotes go out the same day. Big or awkward jobs we come look at first.

  3. We cut, we clean up

Wood hauled off, drive and yard raked, ruts avoided. You should not be able to tell we were here except for the missing tree.

Where we work

Ten cities, three counties, no travel surcharge

Austin and the northern suburbs, plus Kyle and Buda to the south. Anything inside Travis, Williamson or Hays County is a normal day for us.

Questions we get asked every week

How much does tree removal cost in Austin?

Most tree removals in Austin land between $450 and $2,400. A 25-foot hackberry standing clear in a back yard sits near the bottom. A 70-foot live oak leaning over a roof in Tarrytown sits near the top, because every limb has to be roped down in pieces. Height, lean and access set the number, not the species.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Austin?

You need a City of Austin permit for any tree 19 inches or more in diameter measured at 4.5 feet up. At 24 inches and above it is a Heritage tree and the rules get stricter again. Dead trees and genuine emergencies are handled differently. We check the measurement before quoting so nobody gets a surprise.

Does homeowners insurance cover tree removal in Texas?

Usually only if the tree damaged something the policy covers. A pecan that falls on your roof, fence or car is normally covered, often capped around $500 to $1,000 for the removal itself. The same pecan falling flat across the lawn and hitting nothing is almost always your bill. Taking a leaning tree down before it falls is never covered.

When should I not trim my oak trees in Austin?

Do not prune oaks between February 1 and June 30. That is when the beetles carrying oak wilt are active in Central Texas, and a fresh cut is an open door for them. If a storm breaks an oak limb during those months, paint the wound the same day. We carry pruning paint on every truck year round.

Do you grind the stump as well?

Yes, and it is quoted as a separate line so you can skip it. Grinding adds roughly $120 to $400 depending on diameter and how close the stump sits to a wall or fence. We go 8 to 12 inches below grade, which is deep enough to lay sod or plant grass straight over the spot.

How fast can you get out after a storm?

Anything touching a house, a car or a power drop goes to the front of the queue, day or night. After a big Central Texas line storm the whole metro calls at once, so a limb resting harmlessly on a lawn may wait a day or two. Tell us what it is touching and we will be straight with you about timing.
